Santa Run 2012

Well, this was quite possibly the most hilarious event I've taken part in EVER.

This lunchtime I gathered with my husband, our 2 under-fives and 200-odd other revellers for one of several Santa Runs taking part across the country. In aid of Children's Hospice South West, this particular route took us on a 2k route through the centre of Wells and around the historic cathedral.

Each participant is given a santa outfit (even my 3 and 4-year-olds, much to their delight and man, did they look cute) and you can walk, toddle, jog or run the course which is fully marshalled and traffic free.

We loaded the kids in the buggy, strapped a beard onto the dog (yeah we did) and jogged as well as we could with the 3 year old in the buggy, out of the buggy, in the buggy and oh so many wee stops for the dog.

It's fair to say it's the most fun I've had in any race. The residents of Wells were out in force, the marshalls were cheering everyone on every step of the way and we even got hot chocolate and a mince pie at the end. Bonus.

There's one more event this year, at Exeter racecourse. For more information or to sign up, click here
